A rare Victorian Irish pine dresser, on a plinth surround. commonly with Irish dressers, it is made in one piece, the side of the top continues into the base. As with most Irish dressers, there is evidence of old worm damage, no doubt due to the damp conditions they endured during the 19th century, worm which has left the timbers long ago, but has been treated as a precaution. Extensive worn damage is shown in the photograph of the work top, which has also been hardened. Repairs and replacement has been carried out to the plinth and various pieces to the dresser carcase. Drawers run easily in their recesses. Doubled panelled doors with lock and key fastening enclose the cupboard area. A superb old dresser Circa 1850, 1860 and a lovely addition to a country kitchen or dining room.
